CVIS Events |
|
Events are an integral part of what we do at CVIS. At all of our events we will address issues and content in ways and at depths that our vendors and our competitors often avoid. We work on the premise that you need all the information before you make important business decisions and you need in-depth support, training and implementation to make your purchase productive and profitable for you and your organization. At CVIS we offer a number of different types of Events. Each is crafted to meet the very different needs of our clients. All of our Events are centered on issues important to AEC, GIS, Government, and Educational organizations. Events cover management, usage, training and technical content concerning the technologies and applications we support and service. |

Autodesk, Microsoft, and Adobe all offer trial CDs of most of their software. However, the trial CD experience can be fraught with install issues and real world time constraints.
One of the best ways to really find out what the new software will really do is attend a Drop Zone or CAD Pilot Boot Camp training event. Yes, you will spend some money and time, but you’ll really spend a lot more of both trying to play and learn from a trial CD to find out what the software can really do for your and your firm.

The most important deciding factor is whether you are training staff or RETRAINING staff. There is a significant difference.
o This
is what all traditional computer training class offerings are. We call this
form of training “Point and Click” and market, sell, and deliver it
in many forms under the category of “Make It Live” training to
distinguish it clearly from our retraining
o You need to learn and understand new or different software features and processes.
o The training is focused on acquiring new skills with less attention paid to your current skill level and or mode of learning except by the instructor.
o After student desire to acquire the skills, Instructor teaching skill is the single most important factor in determining whether the training will be a success.
Retraining:
o We could summarize the big difference with a single phrase: “Retraining Experts to be better Experts.”
o You are already skilled in a previous or related version of the software and you need to be trained how to effectively employ new software.
o Retraining requires removing unproductive and outdated work habits and methods, constructing new more productive methods and practices, and specific training in new skills and software tools and functions.
o Retraining requires significantly different courseware, a different training environment, and delivery methodology than the traditional computer class.
o Requires a multi-disciplined team of skilled instructors
o Is NOT dependent upon individual instructor skill level.
o
Individual student progress is NOT limited by
the progress and effort of other students.
Many of our events are specifically targeted at RETRAINING staff. Our customers tell us this is the most NEEDED form of training. Therefore, we specialize in delivering the most powerful RETRAINING experiences available anywhere.
All CVIS retraining Events use the term “CAD Pilot” as a part of their name. All of them are “Jump Schools”.

CAD Pilot Boot Camp will well work for you if:

o You really want to learn how to learn the software
Just so you know…We require all CVIS
staff to attend at least one
You have a number of learning choices based on the needs and experience levels of your staff.
